Hi Folks ,wanted to introduce myself

Hi everybody,
My name is Ron Nicholds, I'm a general contractor from Long Island NY & East Meredith in the NY Catskills. The last several years I have been setting up 35 acres for a homestead, infrastructure, roads ponds, drainage , electric, septic. I was planning to build a bermed zero energy home along with in ground solar greenhouses, but have become hesitant to vest that much time and energy into a area that probably could not be survivable being only 4 1/2 hours from NYC. It now is a vacation spot with a Winnabago and a Portable Barn.
Becoming more informed on the realities of survival in the event of any of the numerous and ominous possible upheavals has brought me to believe that a isolated and remote community like the Appalacian Project provides the highest level of survivability, so here I am. I have a blind mother 91 and a son at Oneonta State. I'm the oddball of my family as far as recognizing whats really happening out there, my preparations for a ominous future have been ramped up as of late knowing that things are leading to the inevitable. Finding the project seems to be timely to say the least, and I am hoping to visit the land ASAP and meet as many of you as possible. Also have some interested friends that would like to check it out and join. If anyone is planning a visit and would like to coordinate / carpool, let me know.
In addition to contracting work I sell portable shelters of all kinds online at www.shelterworld.com. My interests are sustainable communal living , building , alternate energy, prophesy, ecology, herbalism, organic farming, composting, worms , bees , inground greenhouses (bermed) for all year production, crystals, orgone, guns and my Unimogs. I was wondering if anyone has read the 50$ underground house, very interesting , keep cool in summer and warm in winter, build it with poly tarps and logs and salvaged wood. Protection from the elements, blends into the environment, pretty cool. Another great idea I would like to pass along and which I may try to set up for my first trip is to acquire a refrigerator box trailer, usually they are stainless steel and because of their use they are super insulated with 4" of foam all around. they can be delivered to the site via tractor trailer, then the rear axle could be removed or a skirt build around the unit for storage and wa la, instant crib, add windows door and a tiny wood stove and your cozy. They are available for around $500 for a 40' unit, lots of possibilities. I had a few more questions if anyone could answer them. First is regarding trust memberships, I joined as a limited member, are there levels of membership? I seemed to get that drift from reading some of the other posts. I was also wondering if anyone is living at the trust at present.
